札幌大通地下ギャラリー500m美術館では、現代アートの作品プランおよび企画プランを対象としたコンペティション「500m美術館賞」を2012年より実施しており、これまでに13回の開催を重ねてきました。

今年度は、500m美術館が札幌国際芸術祭2027（SIAF2027）の会場となることを受け、同芸術祭の会期中に作品展示を行う2組を選出する特別コンペティション「SIAF2027 500m美術館賞」を実施することになりました。

本コンペティションでは、SIAF2027のテーマ
「PLANET SNOW（プラネット・スノー）— upas mintar / upas nociw（ウパㇱ ミンタㇻ / ウパㇱ ノチウ）」に基づいた展示プランを募集します。

会場となる500m美術館には、ガラスケース が8基（1基：幅12,000mm × 高さ2,000mm × 奥行650mm）があります。今回は1組4基、総延長48mの展示空間を使用した作品展示が可能です。

応募形式は、アーティストによる個展形式の展示プランのほか、キュレーターによる企画展、複数作家によるグループ展なども対象とします。多くの人が行き交う地下コンコースに設置されたガラスケース空間の特性を生かしたプランをお待ちしております。

展示プランは一次書類審査および二次面接審査を経て選考され、選出された2組は、2027年1月16日（土）より開催されるSIAF2027の参加アーティスト（※）として、500m美術館における展覧会「SIAF2027 500m美術館賞」に出展していただきます。
※キュレーターを含むチームで応募された場合は、チーム名やコレクティブ名での発表とします。

500m美術館ガラスケース４基（1基につき、幅12,000mm×高さ2,000mm×奥行650mm）、全長12m×4基（48m）
※計8基のガラスケースを東側・西側で4基ずつに分け、受賞者2組の作品展示を行います。

The Sapporo Odori 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery has been holding the "500-m Underground Walkway Gallery Award," a competition for contemporary artwork plans and exhibition proposals, since 2012, and is now preparing for its 14th edition.

As the 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery will serve as a venue for the Sapporo International Art Festival 2027 (SIAF2027) this fiscal year, we have decided to hold the "SIAF2027 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery Award," an international competition for two parties to exhibit their works during the festival.

In this competition, we are seeking exhibition plans based on the theme of SIAF2027: "PLANET SNOW — upas mintar / upas nociw".

The 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery, which will serve as the venue, has eight glass cases (each 12,000 mm W x 2,000 mm H x 650 mm D). For this occasion, four cases, totaling 48 meters, will be made available for exhibition to each winner.

The application format targets plans for solo exhibitions by artists, as well as curated and group exhibitions featuring multiple artists. We look forward to seeing plans that take advantage of the characteristics of the glass cases located in this high-traffic underground concourse.

Exhibition plans will be selected through a primary document screening and a secondary interview screening. The two selected parties will participate as SIAF2027 participating artists (*) and exhibit in the exhibition "SIAF2027 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery Award" at the 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery starting from January 16 (Sat), 2027.

*If applying as a team with a curator, the announcement will be made under the collective’s name.

Four 500-m Underground Walkway Gallery glass cases (each 12,000 mm W x 2,000 mm H x 650 mm D)
Total length: 12 m x 4 cases (48 m)
*The eight glass display cases will be divided evenly, with four on the east side and four on the west side of the Glass Case Zone, to exhibit the works of the two winning parties.
